WHAT WE DO
Hands of Grace Ministry
At the Hands of Grace center in Libreville, Gabon, the mission is to uplift widows and impoverished women by equipping them with essential skills that pave the way for self-sufficiency. The women who lead at the center also serve to share the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are taught how to solve their life problems by using the teachings in the Bible.
Sewing
Training
We believe in the transformative power of skill development. Our primary focus is on teaching women the art of sewing. This not only opens up opportunities for creative expression but also serves as a practical skill that can be leveraged for personal and financial independence.
Nurturing Environments
We recognize the importance of a secure and supportive work environment. As an integral part of our commitment, we provide each participant with a nourishing meal during their day at the sewing center. Additionally, we ensure a safe and conducive workplace, fostering an atmosphere where women can focus on learning and honing their skills and building a community without worry.
Machine
Maintenance
As part of our sewing training, we also teach practical skills such as sewing machine maintenance. Participants learn essential techniques, including oiling, cleaning, and proper use and care of the machine. This knowledge not only ensures the longevity of their tools but also enables the sustainability of the program.
Inspiring the Next Generation
The impact of our approach extends beyond needle and thread. By empowering Gabonese women as skilled entrepreneurs in a nurturing environment, we set in motion a ripple effect of positive change within families and communities. These empowered women not only contribute to the local economy but also serve as inspirational role models for generations to come.
Business Training
Our program includes business training. From financial management to effective marketing strategies, we ensure participants are well-prepared to establish and manage their own sewing center and build relationships with customers. They are trained to establish the value of an item and the value of their time put into their products to determine a fair price.
Biblical Foundation
Our programs are designed not only to impart practical skills but also to nurture the God-given talents within each woman. The day begins with praise singing and prayer, and throughout the day the women mentor each other with biblical principles. This daily routine creates a spiritual foundation that empowers the women to face challenges with resilience and hope.
As an integral part of their spiritual practice, prayer needs are shared daily. This communal sharing builds a sense of unity and support, allowing them to lift each other up in times of need.
